Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Zikporx Network app for iPhone and iPad (the "App") handles information.
Summary
- No account. You don't sign up or log in.
- No tracking, analytics or ads. The App contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software, and we do not sell or share personal information.
- We run no servers that receive your data. Everything you save stays on your device.
- The App contacts third-party services only to perform the lookups you ask for. Those services are listed below.
1. Information stored on your device
The App stores the following only on your device. We do not receive it.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Search history | So you can re-open recent lookups |
| Favorites | Domains, IP addresses, ASNs and devices you save |
| Monitors | Targets you choose to monitor and their latest results |
| Settings | Your DNS resolver choice, scan timeout and preferences |
| Optional keys | An ipinfo.io token or Spamhaus DQS key, if you enter one |
This data is removed when you delete the App. It may be included in your device backups (for example, iCloud Backup) according to your iOS settings. You can delete history, favorites and monitors in the App at any time.
2. Information sent to third-party services
When you use a feature, the App connects directly from your device to the service that provides the answer. As with any Internet connection, each service can see your device's IP address. The table shows what else it receives.
| Service | When it's used | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| ipify (api.ipify.org) | Showing your public IP address | A request for your own IP address |
| ipinfo.io | IP lookups (owner, location, ISP) | The IP address you look up, and your ipinfo token if you entered one |
| Cloudflare or Google DNS-over-HTTPS (your choice in Settings) | DNS lookups, reverse DNS and IP blocklist checks | The domain names and DNS records you look up; IP addresses being checked, in reversed form |
| Quad9 | Domain reputation checks | The domain names you check |
| abuse.ch URLhaus | Domain reputation checks | Nothing about your lookups. The App downloads their public malware host list and checks it on your device |
| IP blocklist operators (SpamCop, PSBL, UCEPROTECT, DroneBL, Barracuda) | IP reputation checks | The IP addresses you check, through your chosen DNS resolver |
| Spamhaus, only if you add your own DQS key | Spamhaus reputation checks | The IP addresses and domains you check, and your Spamhaus key |
| RIPE NCC (RIPEstat) | ASN and BGP routing information | The IP addresses, prefixes and ASNs you look up |
| rdap.org and domain and IP registries | Registration (RDAP / WHOIS) information | The domains, IP addresses and ASNs you look up |
| Websites and hosts you target | TLS certificate checks, website monitors, ping, traceroute and port scans | Direct network connections from your device to the target you choose |
These services are operated by third parties under their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control them and do not receive the data they collect.
3. Local network features
The LAN Scanner, Bonjour browser, router information and device details find and contact devices on your local network. This happens on your device, and the results are not sent to us or to any third party. iOS asks for your permission ("Local Network") before the App can use these features, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
4. Location permission
iOS reveals the name of your current Wi-Fi network only to apps that have location permission. The App asks for "While Using" location permission only to display your Wi-Fi network name. It does not request, store or share your location coordinates. You can turn this permission off at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Notifications and background activity
If you create monitors, the App may check them in the background when iOS allows it and show local notifications when something changes. These notifications are created on your device; we do not run a notification server.
6. Reports you share
When you export a report as a PDF or text, or copy it, the content goes only where you choose to send it.
7. Crash and usage data
The App contains no analytics or crash-reporting software of its own. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports and usage statistics under Apple's privacy policy.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your rights
Because we do not collect or store personal information on our own systems, we generally have no personal data about you to access, correct, delete or transfer. You control the data stored in the App and can delete it at any time. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and U.S. states such as California may have additional rights under local law. Contact us with any request or question, and we will respond as required by law.
10. Security
Data saved by the App is stored in its protected area on your device, secured by iOS. Connections to the third-party services listed above use encrypted HTTPS where the service supports it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
